Master of Science in positive organisation development and change trains professionals to establish a strength-based approach to organisation development and change.
Xavier School of Management (XLRI), in collaboration with Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Re serve University (Cleveland, US), has brought to India an MS in positive organisation development (MPOD) that, instead of following the traditional approach of identifying weaknesses and then taking remedial action, will train professionals to identify organisational strengths and build on them to gain maximum advantage.

The 15-month course, which falls under the faculty of science, is specifically de signed for working executives. Its two theoretical central pillars will focus on appreciative inquiry and emotional intelligence. In addition, there will be an em phasis on consulting and coun selling skills.
Jittu Singh, professor of organi sational behaviour, and director, global MBA programme, XLRI, says, “The first five modules of one-week duration each, will be taught at the XLRI campus in Jamshedpur. The sixth (final) module, spread over two weeks, will be held on campus at Case Western Reserve University in the US. The modules are spaced around 12 weeks apart, making the programme flexible for working executives and enabling them to attend on-campus classroom sessions without disrupting their work schedules.“
During the intervening period between the six modules, participants will be assigned practical projects in their respective organisations.
The course curriculum, designed by both the institutes, will assist 25 executives to lead change initiatives in their respective organisations with success and to make greater use of the latent potential in team members.
“The partnership between XLRI and Case Western has evolved based on common strengths in organisational behaviour and human resources management.The programme has now been extended to the new global MBA programme launched by XLRI in partnership with Case Western and Tongji University (China),“ shares Singh.
Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of the quality of their work experience and passion for initiating change. Selection will not be based on any written entrance test. Prior educational credentials will also be taken into account.
The programme fee, set at $29,000 (Rs 17,40,000) will cover tuition fee and oncampus accommodation during each of the six modules.
